Stuart is a Provisional Psychologist. He is working under the supervision of Clinic Director, Dr Cynthia Turner. Stuart completed a Bachelor of Science degree (Honours) (Psychology) in 2015 and since this time has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in various practice settings, including hospital, school, private practice, telehealth, and government.
Stuart returned to study in 2023, and is now in the final few months of his postgraduate Clinical Psychology qualification. Stuart is undertaking a Master of Clinical Psychology program at The University of Queensland.
He will complete this qualification in December 2024. Stuart enjoys working with all presentations, and will be providing therapy and assessment services at The Brainy Bunch. He has a special interest in the management of OCD and anxiety (including post-traumatic stress disorder), mood disturbance and depression, and personality vulnerabilities.
Alongside our multi disciplinary team, Stuart is committed to evidence-based psychological interventions. Stuart has a fun, welcoming, and collaborative approach. As he is completing post-graduate study, Stuart is unable to provide a Medicare rebate for psychological therapy services. A Mental Health Care Plan is therefore not necessary to commence working with Stuart.
HOW TO
To begin psychological therapy or an assessment
You do not need a referral to see a psychologist for therapy or assessment. However, Medicare rebates are available for those who have a Mental Health Care Plan. To obtain a Mental Health Care Plan, you will need to visit your GP or a Psychiatrist or a Paediatrician. Medicare rebates are not offered for assessments.
To book an appointment with a Paediatrician, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist or Paediatric Neurologist
For an appointment with one of our medical specialists, please see your General Practitioner (GP) or current medical specialist and discuss a referral to our service. A referral from a GP or medical specialist is required, and once this has been received, our team will be in contact with you.
To begin speech therapy or a language assessment
You do not need a referral to see a speech pathologist for an assessment or therapy. However, Medicare rebates may be available for those who have a Chronic Disease GP Management Plan or Team Care Arrangement. You will need to speak with your GP to determine if you are eligible for referral under these schemes. Medicare referrals are also available under a Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorder or other eligible disability (including Autism) scheme. Speak to your child’s GP, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist for a referral under this scheme.
